| On June 2, 2003, the Town of Abingdon designated this 13-acre tract of land as Veterans Memorial Park.
The park, at it's completion, will be a hands-on memorial park. The conceptual design includes: • Path of Honor - walking trail encircling the green space • Picnic Pavilions - one for each division of the armed services • Wall of Names Memorial • POW/MIA Memorial • Eternal Flame • Museum • Playground Veterans Memorial Park will be a family-oriented park . . . a place to express appreciation, a place of dedication, a place of education, a place of meditation and a place of inspiration. |
